Alexa Parker

Ph.D. Student

Alexa is a first-year Ph.D. Student in the Medieval Studies Program. She is primarily interested in the ways in which women are represented in Old English literature, as well as applications of Object-Oriented Ontology in Old English literature. Most recently, in her master’s thesis at Illinois State University, she examined the relationship between peace-weavers and treasure objects in Beowulf and Judith through an object-oriented perspective. She plans to continue to direct her focus towards connections between women, objects, and power as they are presented in Old English texts.
