Alexa Gall

Ph.D. Student

Overview

Alexa is a third-year Ph.D. Student in the Medieval Studies Program. She is interested in representations of women, dress, and textiles (along with their production) in Old English literature. She is also engaged with applications of Object-Oriented Ontology in Old English literature. In her master’s thesis at Illinois State University, she examined the relationship between peace-weavers and treasure objects in Beowulf and Judith through an object-oriented perspective. She plans to continue to direct her focus towards connections between women, objects, and power as they are presented in Old English texts.
