Overview
Kiran Mohammadi-Williams is the Collections as Data Librarian at Cornell University Library, where she supports instruction, research, and outreach on public-facing digital scholarship. Her work as a librarian includes supporting faculty, students, and staff with scoping, curating, managing, and building collections data, digital collections and exhibits, data visualizations, websites, databases, digital dissertations, and other forms of digital research in the humanities and social sciences.
Research Focus
As a Ph.D. student, Kiran's research focuses on the materiality and iconography of late medieval embroidered liturgical vestments in the Latin West. She is particularly interested in the presence of textiles in 14th-century English liturgical practice and exegetical traditions, the sensorial, performative, and spiritual experiences of dress, and applying fashion studies approaches to medieval clothing. As a library professional, her research focuses on minimal and sustainable computing, data history, and digital humanities pedagogy and methods.
