The Dumbarton Oaks fellowship program began in 1940 and today appoints scholars as fellows in Byzantine, Garden and Landscape, and Pre-Columbian Studies. Alice has been named as one of three Junior Fellows in Garden and Landscape Studies for 2023-2024. She will live in residence in Washington DC for the 2023-2024 academic year as she works on her dissertation, "The Beauty of the Field: Weeds in the Medieval Imagination and Landscape".
